Summer of Success at e-space

Companies have flocked to the e-space business centres in East Cambridgeshire over the last few months as the District fights the recession.

 Five new tenants have joined the centres in Littleport and Ely to take advantage of the easy in/out lease, fully serviced accommodation and conference facilities which are great for start up and growing companies

 The companies who have moved into e-space north and south are:

Fenman Ltd was founded in 1988 as a publisher of training resources training DVDs, training videos, training manuals and training games for use by learning and development professionals.

JDR Cable Systems Ltd is a leading provider of custom-designed and manufactured subsea power cables, umbilical systems and marine cables for a broad range of applications.

Plantsystems Ltd are independent crop consultants offering consulting services in the fresh produce sector. We provide a range of services which are tailor made to meet the individual needs of our customers.

Ascendis Pharma is an emerging pharmaceutical company which is creating improved, patentable versions of both currently marketed drugs and high-value development-stage opportunities.

ISVirtual Ltd specialise in delivering business focused online solutions for small to medium companies.

Cllr Ron Bradney, who is lead member for economic development at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: "We all know how difficult a time it has been for the economy as the recession has bit hard. However there is a general feeling that things are starting to turn around and we can just look at the recent success at the e-space business centres.

"Our occupancy rate currently stands at 92 per cent which is a great endorsement of the facility but also means we can still fit any interested companies in The centres pride themselves in creating communities within the buildings. Our small start-up firms not only rely on us to provide things such as IT infrastructure, reception and postal services, they also benefit from the fact that we have open spaces where people can meet and share ideas."
